POLICE are appealing to the public to help identify a woman they would like to speak to following a theft from Superdrug in Tavistock.

The lady is described as in her mid 40s to 50s, of stocky build with long dark hair that had a red tint and was tied in a bun. She was wearing a black tweed coat, black trousers and trainers and had a large, feather-effect, quilted shoulder bag.

On Wednesday, January 20 at 11.15am the store alarm went off. Staff challenged a woman who was leaving the store. She then ran off and jumped onto an orange and red mountain bike and cycled off towards West Street — so she would have been going against the flow of traffic.

On checking their stock, Superdrug staff have said that two Phillips electric beard trimmers were taken along with aftershave and deodorant by David Beckham. In total the retail value was well over £100.

Anyone who recognises this description, or has any information relating to the incident, is asked to contact police on 101, quoting crime reference number CR/4259/16.
