PEOPLE in West Devon will have the chance to talk to their MP at a mobile advice surgery today (Thursday) and tomorrow.

MP for West Devon and Torridge Geoffrey Cox has been taking his mobile surgery out into the constituency, starting yesterday.

He will visit a number of villages and towns in his 'MP Mobile', enabling him to meet as many people as possible across the area.

The MP, who holds regular Saturday morning surgeries in Tavistock, Holsworthy, Great Torrington and Bideford, uses the parliamentary summer recess to take his mobile surgery to rural communities, giving those who find it difficult to make it to his normal advice sessions, the opportunity to sit down and discuss issues affecting them.

Mr Cox said: 'I want to be as accessible as possible and I am very much looking forward to touring the constituency again in my mobile surgery. I have found it a particularly effective way of getting people who might otherwise never have a personal meeting with their MP.

'The great thing about the summer tour is that no appointment is needed and everyone is welcome to come and consult me about a personal problem or just to tell me what is on their mind, all in the privacy and comfort of my mobile surgery.'

Mr Cox will be in Shebbear, outside the village hall, today (Thursday) from 12.30pm to 1.30pm, Petrockstowe, outside Baxter Hall, from 3pm to 4pm, and at Halwill Junction, outside the village hall, from 4.30pm to 5.30pm.

Tomorrow (Friday), he will be at Bratton Clovelly, outside the Clovelly Inn, from 10am to 11am, in Lifton, outside the Arundell Arms, from 11.30pm to 12.30pm, in Bere Ferrers, outside the social club, from 2.30pm to 3.30pm, and in Yelverton, outside the Rock Inn, from 5pm to 6pm.
