PLAYGROUPS and pre-school groups are invited to apply for grants from the proceeds of a Darts Marathon held by Tavistock Lions Club.
The marathon was held last year. Ten local pubs took part with nearly 100 darts players throwing darts for two hours.
A total of nearly £1,900 was raised by the teams and the Lions Club now wishes to distribute this among voluntarily-run play groups and pre-school groups. The area covered includes Sourton to the north, Princetown to the east, Buckland Monachorum to the south and the river Tamar to the west.
Organisers of groups are invited to write to the Lions Club chairman with their request for a grant, with an explanation as to what the money will be used for. Letters to Eric Portman, Sunnyside, 240 Whitchurch Road, Tavistock, PL19 9EF, to arrive by January 31.
