HORRABRIDGE Primary School welcomed pupils back after the summer holidays last week with an Indian themed art week.

The whole school, from nursery age to Year 6, took part in the activities which ranged from making a rickshaw to henna application.

Headteacher, John Clark, said: ‘Two parents, Mrs Bolton and Mrs Gourd, helped in the organisation of the day and other parents helped on the two days.’

The children also painted and drew peacock feathers and experimented with batik.

Mr Clark added: ‘All the children had a wonderful time, it helped with their transition from the long summer holiday to back to school.

‘We also opened the school to parents for half an hour one afternoon so that they could come and view the work.

‘We have planned two music days for the start of the spring term and two science theme days for the start of the summer term next year.’
