ONE fire appliance from Tavistock was deployed to a chimney fire in Gulworthy on Friday, September 11.

On arrival, crews confirmed the chimney fire involved the wood burner and began attempts to extinguish the fire using small tools, a thermal imaging camera and a fognail.

At 9.43pm fire crews requested an additional fire appliance to be mobilised; the second appliance also came from Tavistock.

Crews were then successful in extinguishing the fire.
