TAVISTOCK Squash Club were fortunate to have current world number seven squash player Sarah Jane Perry visit the club, where she delivered a two-hour coaching clinic to eight lucky members.
The session focused on volleys, where Sarah Jane delivered a wide range of drills and conditioned games. The members were challenged throughout the session and also had the opportunity to play against Sarah Jane.
Each of the members thoroughly enjoyed the session and felt that they had improved as a result of the coaching clinic.
This was the first time that Tavistock Squash Club has attracted such a highly ranked player and it is hoped that this will become a regular opportunity for the members of Tavistock Squash Club.
Last month’s competition was the quarterly handicapped tournament. With a good turnout the action produced some tough matches for those looking to progress.
At the end the plate final was played between Matthew Smith and Victor Wright who was playing this event for the first time. Victor made Matt work hard, but it was Matt who came out on top.
