MORE than a 120 children from schools in the Tavistock area attended a Tennis Skills Festival and Tournament held at Tavistock Tennis Club on June 10.

The event was jointly organised by Okehampton Community Recreation Association (OCRA) and local tennis coaching company TennisMAD in conjunction with Tavistock Tennis Club.

The event was part of the Sainsbury's School Games series and teams from Horrabridge,Whitchurch, Tavistock Primary, Okehampton, Bridestowe, Milton Abbot, St Andrew's, St Peter's and North Tawton took part.  The winners of the West Devon area, Okehampton, will go on to take part in the Devon final later in the summer.

Organisers thanked the students from Tavistock College who helped to umpire the tournament.
