A CANCER charity is looking for people throughout Tavistock to take part in a 100 mile cycle ride to help raise funds for the Marie Curie nursing service throughout Devon.

Taking place from Saturday May 5 to Sunday May 6, this two day cycle challenge, from Ilfracombe to Plymouth, is in aid of Marie Curie nurses and the work they carry out throughout Devon, and with the route passing through Tavistock, any keen cyclists are urged to sign up to the weekend-long event.

Event organiser Matt Carruthers said: 'This is a demanding but rewarding cycle ride along some of the most beautiful locations through Devon.

Places are limited so anyone up for the challenge should apply soon to avoid disappointment in being part of the team for 2012.'

All meals, overnight accommodation and support team vehicles are covered by the registration fee of £45 and every cyclist is set the target of aiming to raise £255 in sponsorship, with all money raised helping Marie Curie Cancer Care continue to provide free high quality nursing care to terminally ill patients in their own home, surrounded by loved ones.
