Tavistock Second XI v Ipplepen
A MUCH changed Tavistock 2nd XI welcomed Ipplepen and having lost the toss were asked to bat.
Nick Goodchild and Marc Webber added 40 for the first wicket, but three quick wickets put the brakes on the scoring. John McGahey and the returning Andy Katiff added some experience and runs to the middle of the innings.
Both suffered injuries whilst batting which restricted the remainder of their innings.
Danny Goldstone with some lusty blows added 39, the ever-improving Nick Coe with 21 and evergreen Andy Gauler 19, contributed to a final score of 195.
Thirteen-year-old Callum Worth opened the bowling with 17-year-old Danny Goldstone and neither gave the Ipplepen any free runs.
Disciplines were good with lots of energy in the field and few extras conceded.
Up to the 35th over the match was in the balance, but the Ipplepen batters eventually got on top with some fine hitting at the end and were victorious by five wickets.
