CONSERVATIVE B bounced back from their disappointing start to the Tavistock Snooker league season with an accomplished 4-1 win over West Devon C.
New players McKechnie and Monk made it two for the Con B with their first wins of the season despite drawing two tough opponents in Williams and Hodge. Williams never got going allowing an easy win for Mart McKechnie, while Monk won by a precision black ball game snooker in the jaws of the pocket.
Evans stretched the Cons B lead, fighting off a late challenge from Grigg while Fitzsimmons disposed of Billy Elliott to make it four.
Former Con A skipper Andrews lost to West Devon's Decieco.
West Devon lost to Tavy A 2-3. Tavy A took the lead through Horrell with a controlled victory over Jock Gilchrist while Woods (23) stretched the lead by beating May. Back came West Devon with John Rich taking advantage of a missed pink from Hicks to steal the game, clinching it with a superb black ball pot. A steady win for Hicks over Smith sealed the match for Tavy A. West Devon's Roger Rich inflicted a rare defeat on Ryall.
