SATURDAY?saw a friendly match between the Tavistock Vets and the Tavistock Seconds — with the former educating the latter that age is a mere number and experience is what counts.

The vets' determination did not stop throughout the rugby match, teaching the 'young ones' a lesson on how 'it's done'.

It is fair to say that most spectators thought that in the second half the fitness of the seconds would override the vets — but again the vets taught the opposition and the crowd what they were made of.
