VAL Evans completed the five-kilometre Nordic walking race at Margam Park in Port Talbot on Sunday and was the first female over the finish line.

Val, from Tavistock, was only beaten to the line by one man, making her second overall with a time of 41 minutes and 7 seconds.

The next race Val will tackle is on September 4 in Swindon. She is taking on these walking challenges to raise money for Parkinsons UK.
