BUILDING on Great Britain's success at the recent Olympics, Meadowlands in Tavistock has held three junior triathlon experience days.

These were led by Clare Short who is a fully trained British triathlon coach, and who is passionate about her sport and introducing it to young people.

These days have been an enormous success and now, due to popular demand, Meadowlands will be starting a Junior Triathlon Club on Saturdays from 8.30am to 9am. One Saturday per month will be in the pool and all the other Saturdays will be outside. There will also be a Sunday session on the first Sunday of each month from 9am to 11.30am. The first club day will be Saturday, June 1 but there will be a parents information meeting on Saturday, May 11 from 8.30am to 9.30am. The cost will be £4.50 per session (£30 for eight). The Sunday session will be £15.

All participants need to be able to swim two lengths with confidence, have their own well-maintained bike, cycling helmet, suitable trainers and bike lock.
