THE final of Tavistock Squash and Racketball Clubs Peter Robertson team trophy was held just before Christmas.
The tournament is held every year in honour and memory of Pete Robertson, who for many years was a skilful exponent of doubles squash and gave great service to the club.
The winners were the father and son team of Malcolm and Steve Tripp.
In a keenly fought contest against Colin Grice and Tony Bondy, Malcolm and Steve won by 3-1 games and collected the winning trophy.
Playing doubles in squash is great fun, but it does require exceptional skill and awareness of your partner's and opponents' constantly changing positions.
In the final Steve and Malcolm were able to wrong-foot their opponents and took full advantage of unforced errors from Tony and Colin. The rallies were long and neither team were prepared to give up, but after some excellent shots from Malcolm and Steve the Tripps triumphed.
