THREE swimmers from Tavistock Swimming club competed at the South West short course masters' open sprint meet, held at Millfield School, Somerset.
All three took part at the event for the first time and between them gained 10 first places, five second places and a third place in 16 events. Competing in the 18-24 years age group was joint boys' club captain Nathaniel Rookes who achieved four first places in the 50m backstroke and freestyle and 100m backstroke and individual medley, with a third place in the 100m freestyle.
Head coach James Lake competed in five events in the 30-34 years age group and achieved first places in the 50m freestyle and 100m butterfly events, with second places in the 50m breaststroke and butterfly and 100m IM.
The final swimmer to compete was Chris Anderson (60-64 age group) who competed in six events and gained first places in the 25m freestyle and backstroke, 50m backstroke and the 100m backstroke and also second places in the 50m and 100m freestyle. Well done to these swimmers from the senior age group at Tavistock swimming club on their achievements.
