IN three days of competition at the City of Plymouth Championships last month, 33 swimmers competed for Tavistock Swimming Club.

In the 154 events swum, the swimmers achieved 50 top three positions, five championship finalists (Matt Edwards, Kieran and Nathaniel Rookes) and the winning of the mens relay trophy (Kieran and Nathaniel Rookes, Matt Edwards and Gareth William). Every swimmer achieved at least one personal best time in the gala, as well as age group records by Kieran Rookes, in the 50 m and 100m breaststroke events, and Matt Edwards in the 200m freestyle.

First places were achieved by James Anderson (200m fly), Harriet Edwards (50, 100 and 200m breaststroke and 800m freestyle), Matt Edwards (100 and 200m free), Peter Jarman (200m breastsroke and 400m IM), Chloe Marks (200m back and 800m free) and Kieran Rookes (50 and 100m breaststroke, 50m back and fly). Also competing were Katrina Adams, Gemma Arundel, William Aveyard, Gavin Ball, Maddy Benyon, Ben Bowles, Cameron and Chloe Brooking, Jessamy Clemens, Georgina and James Close, Khira Dawe, Emily and Jake France, Ieuan Noakes, Mollie Rickwood, Jack Rutley, Ellie Shayler, Luke Stephens, Ellie Stoneman, Bethany and Harry Thompson, Amy Timms, Amelia Watson and Annaliese Wright.
