TAVISTOCK Squash's first and second teams have played several matches in the last month or so with some good results.

The first team played two matches an away fixture against New Zapp and a home fixture against ADS1.

Tavistock were represented by Clive Marais, Steve Tripp, Andy Howell, Paddy Kerr, Stuart Cox and Will Westlake. against New Zapp,

Tavistock started strongly winning their first three games but New Zapp fought back to take the fourth and fifth ties giving Tavistock a 3-2 victory. Paddy Kerr was man of the match against ADS1 after coming back from 0-2 down to take his game 3-2.

Tavistock dominated and came away with a 5-0 win which takes them to the top of the division table. The whole team played well and man of the match was given to Andy Howell.

The second team - represented by Paul Trueman, Phil Honey, Simon Powell, Richard Baxter, Richard Davies, Robin Burdfield, Matthew Smith, Steve Luxton and Graham Allen - gained their first wins of the season.

At home to Cifer Tavistock came away with a 3-2 win with Richard Baxter man of the match for winning his match after being 0-2 down. In the second match Tavistock were away to University 4 and with great work from the first three players won 3-2. Man of the match was given Matthew Smith.

Away to Plymouth Life Centre the seconds struggled to play their best and lost the match 2-3. Tavistock player of the match was Robin Burdfield.
