SPECIALIST Tavistock shop Lifer BMX has celebrated winning a national BMX stunt riding competition.

The Cycle Show, held at the NEC Birmingham, hosted the 'BMX Shop Battle' in conjunction with Ride UK BMX Magazine, where 33 UK shops each entered two team riders, who competed on a specially designed BMX ramp course.

Jay Openshaw and Tom Isted representing the Lifer BMX branch in North Street, Tavistock.

'The two rode and performed an amazing routine of synchronized backflips, big tricks, and sky high aerial manouvres.' said shop owner and team manager Steve Wilson.

He added: 'After a 4.30am start, and a long day of travelling and riding, is was satisfying just to reach the quarter finals. But then sailing through the semis, and then winning the final, was the proudest moment in our shop's history.'
