Tavistock firsts 6
TAVISTOCK expected a tough game away to USHC at Bull Point in Plymouth and things were made tougher by the fact they started the game with just 10 players. Despite the man advantage the hosts were unable to break through the Reds' defence.
Tavistock created the better of the chances and received a boost when club chairman Phil Honey arrived to make his first appearance for the first team this season. Honey slotted in a right back which allowed man of the match Sam Stambury to move to his more accustomed centre half position.
Barnaby Sargent-Megicks looked dangerous up front, forcing the USHC keeper to make a number of fine saves.
Tavistock did take the lead when Fenwick converted from a penalty corner.
The visitors soon doubled their lead after more good work from Sargent-Megicks set up captain Tom Honey to score from close range.
Tavistock created a number of chances in the second half but were not their usual clinical selves in front of goal. The score remained at 2-0 thanks to the fine form of keeper Matt Graham and his defensive line up of Phil Honey, Wood, Harding and Carr.
A quick double, including a reverse stick shot from Sargent-Megicks, increased Tavistock's lead to 4-0 before futher goals from Fenwick and Berry made the final score 6-0.
