TAVISTOCK Company of Archers marked St Crispin’s Day on October 25 by starting their club practice with a volley of arrows.
It was the 600th anniversary of the Battle of Agincourt, in which the army of King Henry V defeated a larger French army with the help of English archers and their longbows. Happily, this volley caused absolutely no injuries!
Tavistock Company of Archers is a friendly, family orientated club, affiliated to the National Field Archery Society. The club practices indoors and outdoors (weather permitting). Meetings are relaxed and informal, but safety is always paramount. Members compete in both field archery and target archery, and use a variety of bows, from traditional plain wooden ones to modern compound designs.
