Tavistock A 3
Camborne School of Mines 5
TAVISTOCK were in this game for long spells, the first half saw many opportunities but few tested CSM's keeper.
However it was the young Camborne side who capitalised with one of their few efforts of the half to go in at the interval leading 1-0.
But the home team felt confident they could quickly get themselves back into the game. Collectively they were playing well with Lawrie Marshall and Hugh Venton having fine games. However some poor defending and Tavistock soon found themselves 0-4 down.
Nick Andrews pulled a goal back for Tavistock after linking with Greg Curno, and momentum began to shift back to the home side, but once again a quick break and it was another for the college students.
At 1-5 it was game over but Tavistock plugged away and finished the game the stronger with Nick Andrews adding his second. A number of shots from the home team heaped more pressure on the CSM goal but without reward.
In the final few minutes another goal line scramble saw the ball fall to Luke Curno who struck well only for the keeper to parry it to Ricky Bellard who slotted home.
At 3-5 the score was more respectable but Tavistock need to start next week's game the way they finished this one to give themselves a realistic chance of a result.
