Duchy A 2

TAVISTOCK played their best hockey this season, but still went down to the league leaders by two gifted goals.

Tavistock attacked from the start and held the momentum throughout the game. This rattled the visitors, who have probably dominated their opponents thus far and Tavistock came closer to scoring in the early exchanges.

Solid at the back with Cowen, Anning and Curno, Tavistock were strengthened by the mobile and competitive Stanyer.

The game flowed from end to end and the midfield of Elliot and Bayliss added a new dimension to the middle. Captain Venton worked tirelessly and his new improved passing game created a lot of opportunities. Honey on the right continued to link with the forwards of Baker and the incredibly mobile Andrews.

It was a missed run by the Duchy forward that found him free by 20 yards for the first goal, when he received a long pass through. No chance for the despairing Osborne in goal.

Osbourne was exposed again after a poor free hit gifted the visitors another free run at goal.

Tavistock continued to press and did not give up. Dominating territory and possession, but unable to capitalise on the chances they had.
