Plymouth University B 7

A NEW year but the same issues at hand for Tavistock's A men's hockey side. This was a game that was pretty balanced on the basis that the game flowed from end to end with both sides getting their chances in the D. The difference was in the finishing and the defending. Tavistock played well and held the students for a good period of the first half, with Stanyer, Anning and Hanson playing strong at the back.

The return of Venton added a real competitive edge and Walker, Donnelly and Elliott were finding great space and attacking with pace.

Unfortunately for Tavistock the students were far more decisive in front of goal and although Pugsley had another fine game, he was being pulled wide to cover areas and subsequently left easy tap-in opportunities.
