South West one

Teign A 1

TAVISTOCK A headed off to Dawlish to maintain their table topping position. They knew the match would be a tough game, but it certainly had its physical elements also.

Teign stretched Tavistock from the start and had some early chances, but the commanding Grahame in goal kept the score sheet even.

Tavistock started to settle into the game and build more confidently, with the back line of Hanson, Honey, Donnelly and the ever calm Staig creating opportunities for the midfield to move forward at pace.

The tempo of Tavistock’s game was starting to create problems for Teign and eventually Orman capitalised on a good move and hammered the ball via a reverse stick strike into the net.

New player Dee in miidfield started to create chances for the front line and with Bott showing his class with his first appearance for the A side, the pair were major assets to the visitors.

The battling Daniels and Elliott for Tavistock applied pressure and created more chances. Some sublime skill from Reynolds gave Tavistock their second goal after a great team move and accurate pass from Dee.

Tavistock were running riot but Teign still had their own chances and following a loose pass from the back a powerful strike, gave the home side some hope. The Reds were not to be denied, though, and following a great determined run via Walker, Reynolds slotted the third to take the match and move Tavistock six points clear at the top of the table.
