IT was one incredible week earlier this month for Tavistock running star Adam Holland.

The talented runner, who has achieved many marathon records, began his race week at the  Exeter City Runs 5k where he was narrowly pipped to second place by Tavistock Running Project’s Ben Neale in an excellent time of 15 minutes 57 second.

Next up, Adam raced at the Plym Valley Marathon where he finished first in 2 hours 39 minutes 29 seconds, breaking the course record.

The next day he ran in the inaugural Wings for Life World Run in Richmond Park. Hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world take part in this incredible annual run, at the same time from all around the world.  Despite the extremely hot weather, he got to marathon distance in 2.57.30. With pure grit and determination Adam hit 50km in that heat and was eventually caught by the ‘catcher car’ at 51.93km with 3.41.50 of running. He finished an incredible top 100 in the world and first in Great Britain. Absolutely outstanding running.

If that was not enough, Adam then went on to run Milton Keynes Marathon on bank holiday Monday and delivered yet another master class in endurance, finishing 23rd overall in a solid time of 3.03.58.
