TAVISTOCK ABC boxer Theo Evans travelled to Falmouth on Saturday to take on more experienced opposition in Marcus Trott from Torbay ABC, in front of a large and enthusiastic crowd.

This was Theo’s second outing in Tavistock colours and was an evenly matched competition which had been anticipated for some time. Trott started with good left jabs and pressed forward and initially Theo was under pressure, but he responded, trying to close his man and ward off the lead punch of his opponent. More success was forthcoming when Theo started trading left for left and began using his close range skills when his opponent was against the ropes.

It was these skills which enabled the Tavistock man to be declared unanimous points winner after three exciting rounds.
