Tavistock’s longest established informal running group, Tamar Valley Hash House Harriers (or TVH3), celebrates its 2,000th run on December 3. It was on that date the group was founded by the late Chris Laurence- King.

The runners took part in the anniversary hash which started at Whitchurch Down and finished at the Bedford Hotel in Tavistock.

Roger Thorn, a spokesman for the club, said: ‘We were overwhelmed with the number of hashers that turned up at the Bedford Hotel — over 100. I awarded a couple of trophies, Jake Boswijk for 100 runs and Brian King for 200 runs.’
