NOVEMBER 8 was a glorious sunny day which helped make the Tavistock area primary schools netball festival a successful event.

Lamerton, Meavy, Milton Abbot, Whitchurch, Horrabridge, Tavistock, St Peter’s, St Andrew’s and Bere Alston Primary Schools met to contest each other for the title of Tavistock area champions.

In the large schools competition Whitchurch A came out on top, undefeated, having beaten Tavistock, St Peter’s A, St Andrew’s and Bere Alston and drawing with Horrabridge A, who were runners-up and also undefeated, drawing against Whitchurch A St Peter’s A, St Andrew’s and winning against Bere Alston and Tavistock.

St Andrew’s A and St Peter’s A were third equal. All four teams will go on to represent the Tavistock area at the West Devon finals in February.

The small schools competition was won by Meavy with Lamerton runners-up and Milton Abbot third.
