ON a cold damp morning Tavistock played at home against Plym Valley and with a two week break all were keen and raring to go.
Having beaten the visitors at the start of the season Tavistock were looking for another convincing win.
An immediate attacking play from the home side resulted in a short corner and only a great save by the Plym Valley goalie stopped an early goal. However, within a few minutes a great run by Alex Davis and Lois Thornton in the left field and a nice tap of the ball into Jamie Bulbring saw Tavistock a goal up.
Constant pressure from the Tavistock midfield and forwards resulted in several attempts on goal and a great run by player of the match Annalise Wright ended with Tavistock 2-0 up.
An unsuccessful short corner from Plym Valley leds to an attacking run by Jamie and Tavistock scored their third. A great tap in by Nicky Wood off a short corner put Tavistock 4-0 up at the break.
Playing smart and skilful hockey after the break Tavistock continued to attack. A great ball fed in by Chezzie Moore to Bulbring resulted in goal number five.
With the Tavistock defence working hard and feeding the ball high up the pitch Bulbring scored her third goal to put Tavistock 6-0 up.
However, a lapse in concentration by the home team saw Plym Valley score two quick goals, taking the final score to 6-2.
Overall this was a great performance by the whole team and with new players Olivia Kinnear and Georgie Morris making a fine contribution to the final score. Tavistock seconds are going from strength to strength.
