IN the Tavistock Snooker League Tavy A took over the top spot with a less than convincing 3-2 win at Conservative Z, in a game that went down to the last black ball of the last frame of the evening. New Conservative player Hackney went down to wily Hoar but not before giving a good account of himself.

Ashley Morton produced the performance of the night to take out Tavy A's Ryall in a close finish. Con Z Symons was unable to out bash Woods as Tavy went 2-1 up. Fitzsimmons pulled off a tremendous come-back to overhaul a 30 deficit to inflict the first defeat of the season on Tavy's Horrell.

The last frame with the score all square was between Con's Dodd and Tavy's Hicks.

In a low scoring frame it was Hicks who kept his composure to take the final black to give Tavy A the win in a match that either side could have taken.

Conservative B went down 1-4 to West Devon A.

West Devon player Hall gave a good account of himself before Con B's Evans stole it in a close finish.

Edgy Rich took out Dolan and Emptage made short work of Lillicrap to take WD tothe lead. Heathman can be grateful to a fluked black over Monk to stretch WD's lead with Taylor winning his first ever league game for WD as he breezed past an out of sorts Andrews.
