TAVY A clinched second in the Tavistock league spot with a rather one sided 5-0 win over bottom side Conservative C.
Apart from Con C's Bassett giving Hoar a run it was all one way traffic with Hicks, Grylls, Stewart and Ryall all enjoying easy wins. A 20 break for Hicks and two 20 plus breaks for Ryall added a bit of glitter to the night as Tavy deservedly secured their highest league finish ever.
Last years league champions West Devon A completed their season with a 3-2 win over West Devon C to finish a commendable third in the league.
Williams gave the C team the lead only for the A team to draw level with Rob Heathman edging out Elliott in a black ball thriller. The A team then wrapped it up with Rich sneaking past Grigg and Colin Heathman taking the next black ball game against a battling Shrimpton. Hodge pulled a consolation frame back for the C team against Lawrence.
Conservative B's season petered out like a damp firework after promising so much with a less than convincing 3-2 win over West Devon B.
Conservative B's Lillicrap was taught a lesson by May as the latter May notched up an impressive 60 points - despite a 21 break from Lillicrap. It was all level as Con B's McKechnie beat John Rich only for Bath to pull West Devon in front again with a win against Ewings. Dolan (22) pulled Cons level again with a hard fought encounter with Scouse Gilchrist, with the victory sealed for the Con B's by the ever efficient Evans who beat Roger Rich.
