TAVISTOCK RFC U14s have just undertaken an enjoyable weekend tour of Dorset, taking in the towns of Bournemouth, Salisbury and Dorchester.

The team played two games, one to Salisbury on Saturday and one to Dorchester on Sunday, and although they lost both friendlies, they held Dorchester 19-12.

Team coach Martyn Greening said: 'It was a great team-bonding weekend for the lads, and I'm sure they got a lot out of it.  Our thanks go to Hurdwick Golf Club who kindly sponsored our tour shirts, which helped to make it special.

'The camaraderie and experience of playing teams you've never come up against is a really positive one.  Dorchester have already said they want to come and visit us soon, so who knows, it may turn into something of a tradition.'

As well as playing rugby, the boys also spent some time swimming and unwinding on the beach.

The team are back in training now for the last few games of the season, with a festival at Plymstock to look forward to.

New members are always welcome, and prospective players can get in touch via the team website.
