WITH the Tavistock eleven now sitting firmly at the top of Trelawney division one they have become the team to beat and face some determined opposition. This away fixture at Stonehouse Barracks did not disappoint with a lively start to the game.

Tavistock were soon on the scoreboard when a short corner was converted by Laura Armstrong.

The Mannamead girls worked hard and frustrated the Tavistock players, this saw a green card being awarded to defender Colston for a hard one on one challenge. With strong passes through from midfielders Claire Bruna, Emma White and Laura Colwill the attackers put pressure on the Mannamead defence. The second goal came from open play; Becky Lamb received a strong ball from Gaspar and then laid off to Abi Hall who converted on the line with the keeper. The third goal came from a another cross that was struck in from left wing Jo Gaspar.

The second half saw continued pressure from the Tavistock eleven. The Mannamead keeper worked incredibly hard and made some impressive saves to keep the scoreboard at 3-0 for the majority of the second half, a gallant effort from the young keeper. The final goal came from a short corner awarded to Tavistock which was converted by Abi Hall. 4-0 at the final whistle.
