THE tenth and final round of tennis in the Plymouth and District League has been played and the teams now know their overall positions and which divisions they will play in next season.

RESULTS for Tavistock Tennis Club: Division one — Men's A (Lynden Hardisty and Josh Brown, Simon Prout and Phil Ruse) v St Budeaux A (away) won 7-2. Points 66. Position first.

Division two — Men's B (Phil Harbottle and Gareth George, Tony Du'Gay and Owen Drage) v Plympton A (home) lost 4-5. Pts 43. Position fifth.

Division three —Men's C (Peter Bradley and Matt Smith, John Medland and Benni Evans) v Saltash A (away) lost 0-8. Pts 33. Position fifth.

Division four — Men's D (Peter Rodgers and Jeremy Hyde, Bill Sparks and Paul Newton) v Ivybridge C (home) lost 2-6. Pts 51.  Position second.

Division five — Men's E (Steve Fletcher and John White, Dush Shetty and George Newman) v Saltash B (away) draw 5-5. Points 48. Position second.

Division six — Men's F (John Mulley and David Martin, Paul Jackson and Mike Webb) v Devonshire C (home) won 8-2. Points 38. Position fifth.

Tavistock Tennis Club Men's A have been a formidable team this summer and have come top of division one yet again. The Men's D and E teams will be promoted while the other three teams will go down a division next season.

Division one —Ladies A (Hilary Picton and Alison West, Alice Anstey and Sally Quinlan) v Devonshire B (home) won 8-1. Points 48.

Division two — Ladies B (Roma McMahon and Sue Parsons, Claire Glanville and Maggie Lilley) v St Budeaux A (away) won 7-2. Pts 45.

Division five —Ladies C (Fizz Ward and Wendy George, Mary Harold and Josie Gerhold) v Plympton B (away) won 8-0. Pts 43.

In the Plymouth Open Junior Tournament Peter Bradley (Tavistock) won the U18 boys doubles with Zac Shepherd from Totnes. He was also runner up in the consolation in the U16s boys singles.
