TAVISTOCK men’s first team faced the elements and a very physical Dart side on Saturday.

Dart were sitting above Tavistock in the league and were probably looking to cement their position in the league. The home side started very strongly and moved the ball around with pace and precision and frustrated the visitors by starving them of the ball. The possession bore fruit as Tavistock opened the scoring with a precise tap in from Elliott after a slick move. The frustration began to get the better of Dart and while a man down, Tavistock increased the score with another fine move and solid finish.

Dart started the second half with an increased tempo but although the intention was there, they could not break down the youthful and solid Tavistock back line of Bott, Staig and Bellamy.

Tavistock continued the constant pressure at a fierce rate and eventually, man of the match Honey concluded an excellent move, with a deft touch in front of goal to take all three points with the final goal.
