THERE were superb achievements for 27 swimmers from Tavistock Swimming Club at the last competition of the season — the Plymouth Leander level three long course meet, held at the Plymouth Life Centre. Swimming in 143 events over three days, 125 personal best times were achieved by club swimmers. Everyone did exceptionally well, achieving 61 top 10 positions, and in the age groups winning eight bronze, two silver, and one gold medals. Nine swimmers qualified for the championship finals. Matt Edwards won both the 200 freestyle and 200 butterfly. Kieran Rookes and Nathaniel Rookes came second and third respectively in the 100 breaststroke. Championship final positions were also achieved by James Anderson and Cameron McGurk in the 100m butterfly, Harriet Edwards in the 200m breaststroke, and Luke Stephens in the 100m and 200m breaststroke.
