TAVISTOCK Golf Club members have been taking advantage of the fine weather playing on a course that is in excellent condition but with lightning fast greens! There was good scoring in the men's Alpha Romeo medal with Paul Crump topping division one with a nett 68 closely followed by Rob Staniland with nett 69.  In third place was John Hunt nett 70 on count back from Martyn Moon.  First in division two was Jonathan Coe with nett 69, second Dennis Greening nett 71 and, in third place, was Dan Pratley with a nett 72 on count back from Marc Ninnis.  In the popular Winter League, organised by club professional Glenn Richards, the winners were Alan Gawman and  Jack Philpotts. In the ladies' Sunday EG medal Dawn Dennis has an excellent nett 71, second Sally Hills nett 79 and third Teresa Hughes nett 83.  The monthly Stableford was played in conjunction with the Warren Crocus. The strong wind did not prevent some players producing superb scores.  In division one Donna Gage was first with 38pts, second Kayleigh Cann 35pts and third was Bridget Luckham with 33pts.  First in division two was Sue Gawman with 34pts on countback from Hazel Cash, third Emmie Hoyte 32pts.  Pat Pope was first in division three with 38pts, second Myra Sussex 37pts and third was Gill Millichamp with 35pts.  In the Warren Crocus competition the top two players in the silver and bronze divisions will represent Tavistock in the final at Dawlish Warren and they are Bridget Luckham and Elaine Cooper and Jenny Kaye and Norma Thewlis.   The ladies' Still Cup team, in their first away match of the season at Churston, had an excellent half against a strong Churston team.  The Shelagh Creasy team in their first home match had a resounding victory over RND beating them  5-2.  In the second round of the Daily Mail Foursomes Gail Reed and Hilary Picton had a great win against St Mellion 2 and 1.  The date and venue for the third round to be announced.  In the Emmet-Court trophy the men veterans, in their away match at Morthoe and Woolacombe, the Tavistock team had an superb result winning 7.5 to 2.5 on aggregate to go forward to the next round against Royal North Devon GC.
