South division two

Tavistock firsts 4

Chard 3

TAVISTOCK firsts ended the season on a high note last week.

However, Chard were equally keen and slipped the ball past Mingo the home keeper, for the first goal.

Tavistock increased the pace and, after a period of short fast passing, Adam Holland scored the home side's much needed equaliser.

The game's first half came to a dramatic end when Sam Stanbury lifted the ball from a short corner scoring a superb second goal for Tavistock.

Shortly after the half-time break Ander Cooley was able to add another to the scoreboard using his impressive stick skills.

Unfazed, Chard steadily increased play through the midfield, their efforts paying off when the home defence finally buckled under pressure and conceded a second.

Fortunately Holland, Cooley and Cowen were quick to react, and with some effective co-operation up front, Holland struck Tavistock's fourth and final goal. Defiant till the end, Chard managed one final goal with a high strike from a rebounded short corner.

But the game winning the seven goal thriller.
