SEVEN swimmers from Tavistock Swimming Club qualified for last weekend’s South West Winter Regional Championships held at Millfield school pool in Somerset.

Sarah Teague, Cara Mcveigh, Amy Roberts, Sam Palmer, Charlotte and Hannah Walker and Orla Maguire took part in various events over the three days ranging from 50 metre sprints to the 1,500m freestyle where Sam Palmer raced hard to take more than 30 seconds off his previous personal best time.

Accompanied by TSC head coach James Lake, for most of them it was their first time competing at this high level meet and a testament to their commitment and hard work in training at the start of the season that they achieved the qualifying standards to take part.

James told them: ‘A massive well done to you all and lots of experience gained for the future.’
