TAVISTOCK Athletic Club were among the runners taking part in North Devon for the Bideford half marathon.
The course starts and finishes very close to Bideford Amateur Athletic Club and takes in magnificent countryside alongside the River Torridge between Bideford and Great Torrington.
It is run half on roads and half on the Tarka Trail — going through a tunnel.
The race is moderately flat, with one small hill section.
Adam Holland was the first one back for Tavistock in a time of 1 hour 19 minutes 59 seconds.
He was followed by Jason Shipton 1.37.10, Pete Bazley 1.39.35 who was second in his age category; first lady back for Tavistock AC was Soozie Trice 1.40.24. She was followed by Paul Marshall 1.43.49 with Tracy Oxborough hot on his heels with 1.43.57, Andy Hughes 2.01.54, John Windemer 2.04.47, Paula Smerdon 2.08.21, Kim Beattie 2.12.01, Victoria Hunter 2.13.48, just seconds before Alex Rehaag 2.13.46, Penny Taylor 2.27.37 with Louisa Daley 2.21.23 with Helen Bond and Wendy Wright 2.46.08 coming in together.
For some of these runners it was their first time running a half marathon.
