MORE than 160 players took to the course at Tavistock Golf Club for the annual 'Captains' drive-in' which was played in sunny but cold weather — a good start to the new captains' year.

The team of Rich Potts and David Turnbull took the honours with a winning score of 46 points; second with 44 pts George and Nicky Gawman and, in third place, Matt Boon and Mike Watkin  with 42 pts on count back from Kenny MacKenzie and Rob Sleep.

The sun shone for the ladies' monthly Stableford.  The tricky greens did not deter Sally Hills who scored 36 pts to top division one; second was Gail Reed with 33pts on count back from Nicky Gawman.  First in division two Jenny Kay 29pts, second Gloria Westhead 28 pts on count back from Sam Avens.  First in division three was Val White with 31pts; second Gill Millichamp 30 pts on countback from Ann Dawson.
