TAVISTOCK athletes endured inclement weather and a huge amount of surface water when they took part in Sunday’s autumn trail.

The 7.5-mile race is organised by Armada Athletics, a not for profit organisation made up of athletic clubs in the region including Tavistock. Funds raised goes towards supporting local clubs, athletes and disability athletics in the area.

The race is held in the beautiful Newnham Park with the kind permission of the Cobbold family.

Race organisers were relieved when Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team gave the all clear to use the river crossings moments before the start after concerns about the water flow were allayed.

Eight Tavistock athletes took part in the main race and Jacob Holland and Nicolas Maczugowski took part in the fun run, finishing third and fourth respectively.
