FIVE seniors from Tavistock Athletic Club took a break from their usual Tuesday evening training routine and opted for the fast and furious Run Exe 5km in Exeter last week.

A flat two lap circuit around the banks of the River Exe was the setting for this monthly event.

First home for TAC was Allan Herdman who knocked three seconds off his previous personal best with a time of 19 minutes 09 seconds. Dave Twine was next to cross the line in 21.14 with Andrew Houghton not far behind in 21.56.

Tracy Oxborough was first TAC lady home in 22.49 with mother and daughter pairing Kate and Laura Rogers fighting for family bragging rights in a close contest which saw daughter Laura steal it in 25.31 with Kate in hot pursuit in 25.32.
