TAVISTOCK Athletics Club were well represented at the Plymouth ‘January Jaunt’, with a mixture of experienced and novice athletes tackling this popular event.

The 10k race was organised by the Plymouth Round Table, with the course taking runners from its start/finish at the Plymouth Speedway Track at Coypool, and then along the banks of the estuary.

Runners were then treated to the beautiful grounds of Saltram House, and a testing hill before the turn back home.

Eighteen TAC athletes made the journey, and all came home with either personal bests, good runs, or for some, a first finish in a 10k event.  The day was made even more worthwhile by the news that the 500-strong field had collectively helped the Round Table raise more than £3,300 for local charities and good causes.  A fantastic start to 2017!
