TAVISTOCK Athletic Club descended into Saltram Park, Plympton on August 8 for the seventh round of the club Grand Prix, The Armada Saltram 5K.

The August edition of the monthly 5K had one of its largest fields with more than 230 runners taking part. The 5K course is in the picturesque grounds of the National Trust’s Saltram House.

It’s a difficult course with a fast 2km downhill before turning along the banks of the River Plym and heading uphill for a further 2.5km and then a sharp right turn with a fast 500m downhill finish.

Tavistock AC take part in 14 local (Plymouth, Tavistock and East Cornwall) club organised races to gain points in their grand prix.

19 runners from the club took part in the race and all had a fun evening and excellent racing with some new personal bests set.

The next Grand Prix race is the Tavy 5K on this Saturday starting at Tavistock College at 9.15am.
