SEVEN members of Tavistock Athletic Club competed in the Muskie Madness 5.5m. The race was organised by Plymouth Musketeers Running Club and was set over an undulating 5.5 miles around Tamerton Foliot and in Ham Woods. Alice Rogers was first club runner home and fourth female to the finish, in a fast 37 minutes 20 seconds – another fine performance from this hard-working athlete. Andy Houghton also put in a good performance to win the male 60+ age category, in a time of 43.42. Pete Bazley missed the race start by a good five minutes and yet he ran the hills strongly, offering support and encouragement to slower club runners as he overtook them to finish in 45.32. Kate Rogers ran sub-10 minute miles and finished second in her age category in 49.56. Rebecca Windemer was next home in 51.25, with her father John less than five minutes behind, in 56.08. Sheila Houghton was the final TAC to the finish in 57.36, third in her age group.

The TAC at the start of the race: Andy Houghton, John Windemer, Sheila Houghton, Rebecca Windemer, Kate Rogers and Alice Rogers.
