THREE members of Tavistock Athletic Club have been sole club entrants at their races where all excelled.

Rupert Warren competed in Devon County Athletics Association's 10,000m track championship at Exeter Arena and ran a strong race to finish first in his M40 age category and in ninth place overall, in a time of 36minutes 49seconds.

Tavistock Olympian, Heather Fell, was among the 182 finishers at the Newton Abbot ladies' 10k race. Heavy rain, strong winds and flooding on part of the course made the race a challenge, but Heather put in a terrific performance, finishing fifth overall and third in her age category in a time of 41.53.

Finally, Peter Bazley was the lone TAC in the Truro half marathon. Weather conditions on the day were ideal for this undulating race — warm, dry and still. This was Peter's fourth half marathon race of the year and he had an excellent run, finishing fifth in his M55 age category in 1.39.48.
