IN the Okehampton and district Table Tennis league division two Milton Abbot B were at home to leaders Okehampton C who won 10-0.
Milton Abbot fought well with Rob Evans loosing out to Martin Rose in five sets. Harry Barnaby also lost to Martin 3-0 sets. Ben Evans just lost to Martin in 3 sets.
In Horrabridge against Okehampton B, Harry Bryant put Oke 1-0 ahead in the first. In the second Will Hall beat Kieran Coyle in 5 legs, Meaureen Venton won the next to put Okehampton 2-1 up against David Northey. Will Hall just lost out to Harry in three sets. Harry went on to complete a fine maximum to help Okehampton to a hard fought 6-4 win. Will Hall won the singles for Horrabridge. As did Dave Vanstone.
Okehampton B played club rivals Okehampton C for whom Frank Cockburn scored a fine maximum beating Harry Bryant in the last singles for a 6-4 win. Harry was taken all the way against Martin Rose and just won his second in five sets. Keiran Coyle also took Martin to a fifth leg decider, winning in five sets. Moreton went into a 2-0 lead against Milton Abbot B before young Ben Evans won his singles against Graham Adnitt. Ben fought well winning in five legs. Moreton went on to lead 8-1 with Brian Skilton scoring his first maximum of the season. Graham won two singles with a close second against Rob Evans who also took the first two legs. Graham then stepped up a gear taking the next three. The best was yet to come in the doubles. Ben Evans and Harry Barnaby won their first doubles of the season beating Brian Skilton and Graham Adnitt in four legs, Moreton winning the match 8-2.
The last division two match, Horrabridge were at home against a strong Milton Abbot A team. Chloe Greenwaway gave Horrabridge a well deserved 1-0 lead, beating Michael Blatchford in straight sets.
Milton Abbot went on to take the next eight singles and the doubles for a 9-1 win with Tim Westcott and Ian Osborne scoring fine maximums. Alan Yeo nearly won a second singles for Horrabridge when he just lost out to Michael in five sets.
