THERE here was more success for the Tavistock Wheelers in the Davidstow Road Race in North Cornwall last Sunday.

In windy conditions, the men raced competitively and were rewarded with some more great results. Phil Collings finished second, Tim Mitchell was fifth while Lee Adams and Dan Strong were eighth and ninth respectively. Four riders in the top 10 shows what great progress that the club are making.

For the first time ever, the Wheelers had an entrant in the ladies race and Dee Richards finished just outside the placings which was a great achievement in her first ever road race. The club hopes that Dee will be a pioneer for lady riders in the Tavistock area.

Tavistock Wheelers are always looking for new riders, both men and women, who are competent and keen to train and become competitive riders. It has many riders who simply enjoy the club rides on Sundays and wish to cover between 30 and 60 miles and appreciate the company of a group of sociable and enthusiastic riders. The coffee stop is always a lively, informal occasion.
