THE Son Rise Cup football tournament, started to help raise the profile of autism, and now has grown into one of Tavistock's sporting event highlights, having received £2,000 from the Co-op.
Rob Rich, the Son-Rise Cup and owner of I Love Candy sweetshop, was presented with a certificate from the Co-operative Community Fund which has backed the cup by paying for the facility hire.
Rob said: 'What a fantastic way to kick off the 2013 event! Our committee is fired up to get the next festival even better than the last event and I am very pleased we have been joined by a couple of local football managers to get the event even tighter and more professional.
'A huge thank you must be given to the Co-operative Community Fund for their generous support!'
